Our Story
Gary Carrier founded Plataforma Impact in 2020 after believing there was a better way to fill the growing gap of technology talent in the market.
After living in Brazil’s largest favela, and subsequently working in Silicon Valley, Gary brought technology training, mentorship, and career preparation to low-income youth with the aim of preparing the next generation of technology entrepreneurs while breaking cycles of poverty.
Today, Plataforma Impact works partners with companies like Oracle, Google, and Alura to provide training to students in hundreds of favelas across Brazil while placing graduates with hiring companies around the globe.
